Insecurity to Confidence
I recently read In Bloom by Kayla Aimee. This is Kayla’s
second book. The first chronicaled her journey of her premature’s daughter’s
birth.
Honestly I have to say I did not enjoy this book very much.
However, I think it is a generation “thing”. There were a lot of references to
the 1990’s. As someone who grew up in the 80’s I did not relate to a lot of the
references. Kayla also writes with much
sarcasim, which she readily admidts in the book. I am one who does not prefer
the sarcasm so our styles just did not mix!
I feel bad writing this review because Kalya openly admidts
her insecurity and she (as we all do!) takes personally the comments from
reviews. For me, I felt the book jumped
all over the place with little coheasion.
I also picked up on much distate for the church that I’m still not sure has
been rectified.
With that being said, I think a target audience of those
born in the 90’s and maybe even younger will “get” Kalya’s style and
references! She will probably very relatable
those in that age group! I invite
you to personally pick up In Bloom and see for yourselt if you agree or
disagree!
I was given a free copy of In Bloom for my personal and honest
review.
